Expo City Dubai

Expo City Dubai, the first World Expo site to be extensively repurposed, is a 1,083-acre development built on global sustainability principles with a net-zero by 2050 goal, representing a forward-thinking model for future urban community living. Building on the legacy of Expo 2020 Dubai, which welcomed 192 nations and over 24 million visitors, the site has been transformed into a vibrant, future-centric smart city designed to be sustainable, innovative, and human-centric.

Designed as a 15-minute city with pedestrian-focused planning principles, the development integrates advanced technology, including smart living environments, micro-mobility solutions, and car-free districts within 80% of retained built infrastructure, creating a community where daily needs are accessible within short walking distances.

The site has achieved exceptional sustainability credentials, with 123 buildings earning LEED certification, including seven Platinum and 105 Gold ratings, alongside eight infrastructure projects rated “Excellent” under BREEAM. Key attractions include Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion (LEED Platinum-certified), Alif – The Mobility Pavilion, and the Dubai Exhibition Centre, which hosts major global summits and conferences.

The community incorporates extensive green spaces, landscaped parks, and the Expo Forest featuring native trees, while targeting emissions reductions of 45% by 2030 and 80% by 2040. As part of the Dubai South master-planned development, with direct connectivity to Al Maktoum International Airport, Expo City Dubai offers state-of-the-art office spaces, residential options, cultural programs, farm-to-table restaurants, retail experiences, and innovative educational facilities, establishing itself as a global hub for business, sustainability, leisure, and innovation.
