Palm Jumeirah

Palm Jumeirah is an archipelago of artificial islands constructed in the shape of a stylized palm tree within a circle, with construction beginning in 2001 and financed mainly by Dubai’s petroleum income. The islets were formed mostly from sand dredged from the floor of the Persian Gulf, adding 56 kilometers of coastline to support Dubai’s vision of tripling tourism.

Work commenced in 2001, with land and basic infrastructure completed by 2004, and the first residents arriving in 2007. By the end of 2009, 28 hotels had opened on the Crescent, firmly establishing Palm Jumeirah as one of the world’s most exclusive leisure and holiday destinations. This remarkable engineering marvel remains visible from space, symbolizing Dubai’s ambition and innovation.

The island is home to some of Dubai’s top luxury resorts, including Atlantis The Palm and FIVE Palm Jumeirah, offering world-class shopping, fine dining, and entertainment experiences. The 11-kilometer Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk along the Arabian Gulf is lined with food trucks, souvenir shops, and cafés, providing residents and visitors with stunning skyline views, including Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab.

Properties range from closely spaced villas along the fronds to luxury apartments and penthouses on the trunk, with most premier hotels and resorts located on the crescent. With the Palm Jumeirah Monorail connecting the island to the mainland and a planned extension to the Dubai Metro Red Line, this iconic destination offers unparalleled waterfront access, world-class amenities, and prestigious addresses, delivering a lifestyle that perfectly balances residential tranquility with resort-style luxury living.
